Fornalutx was later conquered by King James I of Aragon in the 13th century.

Fornalutx is renowned for its architecture, particularly its traditional stone houses with red-tiled roofs and green shutters. One of the village's most notable landmarks is the Church of Saint Bartholomew, which dates back to the 18th century and is located in the town square.

The Can Reixac manor house, now a private residence, is another impressive building in Fornalutx. It dates back to the 16th century and is one of the oldest houses in the village.

There are plenty of things to see and do in Fornalutx. Visitors can wander through the village's narrow streets and enjoy the stunning views of the mountains. There are also several hiking trails in the area, including the famous GR 221 trail that passes through the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range.

Fornalutx is also home to several restaurants, cafes, and shops, where visitors can enjoy traditional Mallorcan cuisine and pick up local handicrafts and souvenirs.
